Sustainable transportation

In this city center context, which is well served by public transit and also equipped with a biking lane on De Maisonneuve (implemented in August 2008), certain infrastructures are still lacking.

In order to allow the residents and workers of the Quartier 21 Peter-McGill to take full advantage of the alternative and active transportations available, action has been taken to achieve the following:

  1. A Communauto site set up in June 2009 on De Maisonneuve.
Vehicles are thus available to the subscribers.
  1. A Bixi station installed in June 2009 at the corner of Saint-Marc and Ste-Catherine.

  2. This spring, six extended curbs will be constructed on St-Marc and St-Mathieu streets to promote pedestrian safety while reducing the speed of vehicular traffic .

This project is funded by the Green Fund as part of Action 21 of the 2006-2012 Action Plan on Climate Change of the Government of Quebec.
