The term "waste" includes all the materials which are thrown away and are commonly called garbage.
On the contrary, we prefer to use the term Solid Waste or "SW", since it highlights the different categories of materials found in our trash: actual waste (ie landfill), bulky items (which can often be reused or recycled), recyclable materials (for the sorting center), organic matter (compost-related), hazardous materials, electronics and computers (received by eco-centres for residential buildings).
The Solid Waste section revises each of these categories of waste and then explains how to manage them with regards to the current regulations.
